Silver-Lead Test
Google Translate
Lead / Silver Test KitThe price of SILVER today is higher than the price of gold was in 1970! Almost all silver ore contains lead ... the “Old Timers” would use this lead test kit in the field because they knew if they found lead there was a great chance they had silver too! A ton of ore today with 20% lead is worth more than 5 ounces of gold per ton back in 1970!There is no easy field test for silver ore by itselfbut there is an easy test for lead. Now lead is not always in silver ore... there is silver ore that does not have lead with it but in almost all cases it does.
But with the price of lead today... who cares! For years lead was 16 cents a pound so you never really paid much attention to it. But now lead is $1.20+ a pound!
A lot of silver ore will run 20% lead or more...
Add it up... 20% lead would be 400 pounds per ton @ $1.20 a pound it would be worth $480 a ton... now let’s add in 20 ounce silver @ $37 an ounce... add another $740 a ton and let’s throw in a 1/8 oz of gold per ton which is another $182 you are now looking at ore that is worth $1400 per ton!If you spent $100/ton to ship the ore and $60/ton to mill itYou would net $1260 a ton in your concentrates! A belly dump plus a pup trailer can haul up to 30 ton of ore.So a truck load of ore could be worth over $37,000!
Note: I personally have a silver mine that they took out 1000 ounce silver back in the 1920’s and there were others in the area that were claiming to have 2000 ounce ore. We also have a mine where the dump site has been assayed at over 30 oz silver per ton with about 10% lead! What was junk back then is now worth $1360 a ton! Who knows... by the time the snow melts silver could be up to $50an ounce and the dump site could be worth $1750 a ton! YESTERDAY’S DUMP SITES ARE TODAY’S GOLD MINES!
Most of the mine sites were developed before 1970 with many of them back in the 1930’s, 1940’s and 1950’sLook at the gold and silver price chart below and see for yourself what would of been worth shipping to the mill back then and what YOU would of added to the dump site!
